Ballet


Our syllabus is inspired by the Royal Ballet System of Training. It is designed to be challenging and rewarding for students and to develop a sound technique which will stand them in good stead whatever their future holds. Focus is on building a strong core, a supple body, balletic posture, good presentation and of course confidence!

Saturday School


An exciting opportunity for young dancers to benefit from additional training at the weekend, in a professional dance environment. Students can choose to attend anything from one class to a whole day of classes. The minimum age for students is 11 and previous dance experience is essential. We offer a generous concession for students attending for the full day.

Holiday Workshops


A truly inspirational performance opportunity for children aged 8+ years, including teenagers, with a few spaces available for children aged 5-7 years. The day starts with class followed by rehearsals, plus creative projects during times when the children are not rehearsing. The week culminates with a beautiful performance in costumes to a packed audience of family and friends. Snacks and drinks are provided but we ask that all children bring a nut-free packed lunch.

Jazz


Jazz dance embraces a wealth of styles, from the theatrical dancing you see in musicals like ‘Chicago’, to popular forms of dance like hip hop and street. Our jazz classes offer fitness, fun and performance, all rolled into one! They comprise a basic warm-up focusing on strengthening, stretching and freeing the body to move in an expressive way. This is then followed by a creative dance routine to popular music, which changes and develops week by week.

Choreography


This class offers students a chance to use their imaginations; make up dances; explore different genres of music; perhaps find inspiration to become a future choreographer! This is a fun opportunity to explore a freer style of movement and with the technique and stamina gained from their ballet classes the students create some excellent work as well as get to know each other well.

Body Conditioning


Body conditioning (not to be confused with weight loss programmes!) greatly enhances ballet and dance training. It helps strengthen key muscles and improves postural alignment, balance and spatial awareness. In these classes we use a combination of mat work, balance board, pirouette or turn board, therabands, exercise balls and a small trampoline. This is lots of fun as well as a challenging and beneficial workout for children. Even those who don’t dance! Also great for adults!

Pre-Pointe & Pointe


These classes are for young dancers who wish to take their existing ballet training a step further. Pre-pointe is designed to increase the flexibility and strength of the feet, ankles, legs and core preparatory to putting on that first beautiful pair of pointe shoes. Pointe then takes the student onto their toes and into a whole new world, with exercises at the barre and in the centre including relevés, echappés, bourrées, balances and turns.

VIVA


A dance exercise class for adults. No previous dance experience is needed, but it you have had any dance training, or have ever done yoga or pilates, there will be moves you recognize and love in VIVA. After an hour you will leave class feeling you’ve had a proper work out without being exhausted, a good stretch that has you walking tall, and a laugh! Everyone who does it loves it, so why not come along and experience VIVA for yourself?

Private Lessons/Coaching


Every week Sarah sets aside time to work with students and clients who wish to benefit from one-on-one attention, or to work as a small group on a particular aspect of dance, body conditioning or posture that they would like to concentrate on. This can be very beneficial prior to an audition or other significant event, or simply to fast-track a student’s progress!
